I know "Wonky", but what is cache?

According to TechTarget, a cache -- pronounced CASH -- is hardware or software that is used to store something, usually data, temporarily in a computing environment.

Does Paragon use cache?

Paragon and Paragon Connect, require a web browser such as Safari, Firefox, Chrome, or Edge, to operate. Technically, the browser uses caching to help Paragon, and other webpages you visit, run faster and operate more efficiently.

What are the common issues seen in Paragon due to corrupted cache?

  • Login issues

  • Loading and formatting issues

  • Fields not operating correctly

  • Slow screen behavior

  • Missing information

  • Searches or reports not rendering correctly

  • Same search repeating/reloading over and over

Cool! Now that I know what cache is, how do I get rid of the "Wonky" issues?

Clear your browser's cache.

Finding the right steps to clear the cache will depend on the browser being used. Here are some resources to help:

- Google Account Help

- Mozilla Firefox Support

- Microsoft Edge Support

A final word about cache

Usually, caches are helpful, and most of the time, you shouldn’t need to touch them. Periodically clearing your browser cache will help overcome the "Wonky" issues.

Reverse prospecting is a very useful tool in Paragon Connect. Here is how it works:

  • Listing agents can see counts of all contact matches, but never the identity of the contact. They will see that contact's associated member's contact information so they can reach out.

  • If you are contacted about a reverse prospect either via email the Prospect ID # will be supplied, type that into the Power Search in Paragon Connect to see which contact it relates to. If the member reaching out to you does so by phone, you'll need to ask for the Prospect ID # from them to verify which client they are contacting about.

Reverse Prospecting in Paragon Connect is automatically turned on, if you don't want your contacts/clients to appear in Reverse Prospecting results then turn "Use Reverse Prospecting" off in your Paragon Connect settings (pictured below).

You can find the Reverse Prospecting report for Paragon Connect right within the Published Listing module in Listing Maintenance! This feature lets you prospect on listings you manage with ease. Simply access it as a quick-link action in your overflow menu. Accessed by clicking the three dots stacked on top of each other vertically.

When accessed the Reverse Prospecting allows you to see what contacts are in WVMLS that have matched with your listing. This will also allow you the ability to contact the member whose contact matched with your listing.

If you have any questions about these Reverse Prospecting please email us at support@wvmls.com.

Did you know within Paragon Connect you can access a simple CMA Summary report?

A great tool to utilize for any potential clients to get the conversation started.

To start you'll need to get some comparable results to the potential subject property by utilizing a criteria search.

Inside of Paragon Connect navigate to the Main Menu and click/tap Properties:

On this screen you will choose the appropriate class for your subject property:

You'll then find yourself within the criteria search screen. Fill out information that is going to target comparables for your subject property. Below are a few tips:

  • Utilize Active, Pending, and Sold status to give a broad full picture for comparables.

  • Make sure to set the Closing Date so your results are not too great. 6-12 months back is the most common .

  • Utilize your location buckets to keep the search more accurate: County (Large) -> City (Medium) -> Subdivision (Small, but won't give full picture as subdivision is not a required field).

  • Although it won't give you all potential comparables you can also utilize School Districts as location buckets: High School (Large) -> Middle School (Medium) -> Elementary School (Small)

  • When searching Total Square Footage use a range of 5-10%. I.E. if the subject property is 1,150 a range of 1,035 - 1,265 would be an exact 10%. It is up to you if you'd like to utilize rounding or be exact in this range.

Example Search:

After clicking/tapping "Search" you'll see the results.

On this screen in the top right corner is a views button that allows you to access different views/reports. Click/tap this button and then choose "CMA Summary" to open your CMA Summary report:

This report gives you a breakdown by status of your comparables as well as the minimum, average, maximum, and median of these property characteristics:
